When to Stay Home Chart (As of August 1, 2022)

No exclusion Getting tested Students who have been exposed and do not have symptoms, but are concerned about returning to school with COVID-19 can remain at home for five days after exposure and will be counted as an excused absence as long as they have discussed their situation with a school nurse or school administrator and make up all missed work |

Take precautions until day 10 The person is encouraged to mask for 10 days to minimize risk of infecting others. |
IF YOU |
Stay home for 5 days Stay home for 24 hours If the person did not test positive for COVID-19 they can return to school when they have been fever free without fever reducing medicine for 24 hours and they have been free from diarrhea/vomiting for 24 hours. |
Ending exclusion if you tested positive for COVID-19 Ending exclusion if you tested negative for COVID-19 End exclusion after 24 hours of being symptom free without the use of fever reducing medicine |

Ending exclusion if you had symptoms Ending exclusion if you did NOT have symptoms If the person has no symptoms and they get a repeat PCR/molecular test performed in a laboratory within 24 – 48 hours of their positive antigen test, and that PCR/ molecular test is negative: the positive antigen test can be considered a false positive and the person can immediately return to school. |
